2000 Fletcher Arrowstreak in lovely condition (not 2001 as previously advised), with Fletcher trailer. Original 2-stroke outboard has only covered 167 hours. I’ve owned her for just over a year, selling now due to lack of use/time. The previous owner purchased her from Fletcher Boats, it was one of their ‘cherished’ boats. The bow has a hard cover which can be easily removed to convert her into a bowrider, with fitted cushions. Built-in large fuel tank under seat.Everything works as it should. Comes with anchor, ski pole, automatic and manual bilge pump, 4 fenders, LED interior lights, tonneau covers, removable FM radio, Garmin Striker 4 GPS Fishfinder, outboard workshop manual, fairly new (removable) Floatem poles fitted to trailer. Broom Capricorn Speedboat Length 5.79m / 19ft Beam 2.44m / 8 ft Max draft 0.91m / 3 ft Seating – 5 people. This is a great looking classic British Broom Speedboat known as the Capricorn and is made of fibreglass and is a quality build probably from around the 1980`s (exact date unknown). Very spacious and seaworthy design. It come complete with a Snipe brake back braked trailer which has been adapted with non galvanized metal and is showing its age and rust. The centre beam running the length of the boat is galvanized and a new axle was fitted in 2013 and the trailer has only done 100 miles since fitted. The trailer was used in March 2019 for a 45 mile journey without any problems however the jockey wheel clasp sheared due to lack of use and will need re-tapped. The jockey wheel and clasp are with the boat. The boat is in its original blue gel coat and with polishing comes up nice and shiny but still to be done. The deck is a cream gel coat and again needs T cutting and polishing to bring up the shine. Obviously being around 40 years old there is some crazing and marking but generally looks very good for its age. The interior trim has a number of damaged areas and I would envisage any new owner would want to re upholster the seats if not all the padded trim around the boat. The front passenger seat is not secure and most of the metal seat frame is corroded and will need replaced but all parts are there as templates. The plywood bases of the rear sun deck will need renewing as now rotten. The dash has all the original instruments and the throttle / gear lever is the original Merc Control classic style single stick which is really cool and retro. The trim gauge has never worked from purchase. One of the two simple timber struts that support the padded upholstered cushions for the rear bathing deck will need renewing as the wood is rotten but this would be a simple job. The windscreen is crazed from ultra violet light but you normally look above the screen. The Broom Capricorn has a ski locker in the floor in the middle of the boat, engine bay fan, electric bilge pump, navigation lights and a built-in fuel tank which sits in the bow and I understand can be removed, alloy cleats and stainless steel hand rails. The quality and style can be seen in the boat with a lockable dashboard glove compartment like a car and drinks / cup holders either side of the boat. The classic looking flared bow of the Capricorn deflects the worst of any spray and gives the boat that classic look of the more famous Italian Riva style boats and you can just imagine that the Capricorn would not look out of place in any of the Italian lakes. In good condition the Capricorn is one of the most sought after classic speedboats and recent asking prices have been in excess of £17,000 admittedly in better condition with newer trailers and engines. I think it has the matching external drive leg but cannot say for certain. Engines are not my thing. Think this used to go about 25/30 knots although if you re-engine with a more modern unit the Capricorn will do 40 knots with ease ! The boat was last used in 2013 having been on a mooring for 8 weeks over the summer and in use and was then stored in a remote location with a canvas fitted deck cover and a tarp over that. Unfortunately thieves stole the bathing ladder from the stern platform and also the battery and the two covers were ripped leaving the boat exposed to the weather and rain. Rain water sat in the boat for some time covering the lower part of the engine so it is highly likely that the engine will need some work and replacement of any exposed parts. The engine looks rusty in areas but may just clean up with a wire brush and WD40. The external drive leg has a good propeller. The engine was working and running nicely in 2013 as it had just been serviced by the local boat shop. So this is a great opportunity to pick up an original Broom Capricorn which will make a great starter base for a restoration project with all the original detail and fittings (except the bathing ladder) still with the boat. I would expect any purchaser will want to probably replace the trailer or at least do some major work on the existing one, re-upholster the seats and bathing deck and do something with the engine and electrics. The engine might not be as major as a full engine replacement but it will certainly need work. I would have loved to have got this boat fully restored and taken it to the lakes but time, enthusiasm and skill are against me. Hopefully someone will take this on as it is a beautiful looking classic speedboat and deserves better. PS. If the 1970`s James Bond style arch at the rear of the boat is not to your taste I have seen boats with this removed that look great and a simple chrome polished steel vent plate covers the area where removed. Please note you are bidding to buy not to come and see it. NO RESERVE. Collection within 2 weeks please. I have tried to describe it as best I can and make you aware of what is needing done. For sale is my beloved speed boat! She has given us smiles in the sea and on the lakes! Touch wood to this day she has never broken down. It has a 2.5 litre 2 stoke v6 mercury black max engine. I had it re sprayed in triumph green paint. It’s the paint that flickers gold pearl in the sun. It’s a top notch paint job. I serviced the carbs and plugs 1 year ago, the boat has not done anything in the last 12 months and has been stored under cover.
